The project
The Edintore Wind Farm, which consists of six E-92 wind turbines, was brought online at the beginning of 2017. It was the first time that turbines of this kind were erected in Scotland.
There is a community benefit fund with a benefit package of 5,000 pounds per megawatt that is managed by a nonprofit organization and is used to fund and support local community projects in the region. The fund will be in place for the wind farm’s entire service life and will end up totaling around 1,700,000 pounds over a period of 25 years.
The wind farm generates approx. 42,400 MWh of electricity, which is equivalent to the power consumed by up to 12,000 British two-person households.
