The project
The sites for the five wind turbines that make up the Langer Wald wind farm are located within priority areas KB39 and KB82 between Höringhausen and Freienhagen, in the Waldeck-Frankenberg district. The wind farm is a joint project between Koehler Renewable Energy GmbH and Munich-based Qair Deutschland GmbH.
After years of successful collaboration, the project got to a solid start in the winter of 2023/2024 with the permit issued by the Regional Council of Kassel in May 2022. Erection work is expected to last until late summer of 2025. Each wind turbine has a rated power of 6.2 MW and a tip height of 247 m, and will be used to feed power into the grid via a transformer station that will be built for this purpose close to Meineringhausen.
The wind farm is currently under construction. It is scheduled to go online by the fourth quarter of 2025.
